Las Vegas Sphere: Pipeline Development

In 2018, I was approached by a frequent collaborator consulting on a confidential project for Madison Square Garden. Leveraging my company’s expertise in 360 video and immersive content, I was brought on to address the organization’s need for post-production solutions for what would become the world’s largest immersive video display—The Las Vegas Sphere.

What began as an initial R&D sprint quickly evolved into a multi-year endeavor. Over the course of two years, my team and I established best practices for the Sphere’s groundbreaking format, navigating the technical and creative challenges of producing content at an unprecedented scale. Our work contributed directly to Postcard From Earth, the Sphere’s awe-inspiring opening show, and laid the foundation for an entirely new way of visual storytelling.

As part of this initiative, my company assembled a team of leading experts in immersive video and interactive technologies. This team transitioned to full-time roles within the Sphere organization, solidifying their capabilities as the venue approached its debut. Meanwhile, my company remained an independent partner, continuing to collaborate with the Sphere on numerous R&D projects and producing cutting-edge content for years to come.
